
Makati City – Makati Life Medical Center and Maxicare officially strengthened their partnership on January 19 at 3:30 PM through a contract-signing ceremony held at the Makati Life Experiential Gallery, marking not just a formal milestone, but a shared commitment to build a more connected healthcare experience.
The event was led by Maxicare executives headed by Mr. Christian S. Argos, President and CEO, together with Ms. Elizabeth D. Gregorio, Group Head for Health Network Management, Dr. Arturo C. Libao, Medical Director, and Mr. Eric Francisco, AVP for Provider Network Management. They were joined by Makati Life leaders Dr. Dennis L. Sta. Ana, President and CEO; Ms. Josephine C. Aguilar, Chief Marketing Officer; Dr. Edgardo Ermin R. Ona, Chief Operating Officer; and Mr. Lawrence Y. Sibayan, Vice President for Marketing and Business Development.
This newly signed agreement represents an upgrade from the previous outpatient-only coverage. With this expansion, Maxicare members can now access Makati Life’s Outpatient, Inpatient, and Emergency Room services, significantly broadening care options and strengthening continuity of care.
More than a contract signing, the gathering served as a true meeting of minds, bringing together two organizations aligned in purpose: to support one another in delivering better healthcare outcomes for members and patients. As part of the visit, Maxicare leaders were toured around the Makati Life facility, where the hospital showcased its state-of-the-art capabilities across the ICU, rehabilitation facilities, and inpatient rooms, highlighting the role of smart hospital design and modern technology in improving both clinical outcomes and patient experience.
For patients and members, this partnership translates into greater access to care, smoother hospital journeys, and enhanced support services. Maxicare members at Makati Life will be supported by the hospital’s HMO Concierge, offering services such as LOA facilitation, VIP handling, and streamlined admissions. In the coming months, Maxicare and Makati Life will also roll out medical and surgical packages designed to better manage utilization while expanding affordable, high-quality options for members. Initial packages will include procedures such as Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, and Hemorrhoidectomy, among others.
Strategically, the collaboration creates meaningful value for both organizations. For Maxicare, the partnership provides members with access to a modern facility and a broad network of accredited specialists, helping address the challenge of patient congestion in Metro Manila while expanding quality care options. For Makati Life, the strengthened alliance advances its mission as the country’s first public–private partnership hospital: to make healthcare more accessible, integrated, and sustainable through strong collaborations.
